Originally getting together in 1993 through the persuasion of guitarist/vocalist Jason Anderson, the three-piece of Stew made their debut in the small town of Kearney, NE. With the addition of drummer Shane Aspegren and bassist Tim Fisher, the trio of noise makers brought on a slop of late-'80s Seattle grunge rock to the Midwest. But after the 1995 debut release of Lower, Stew broke up, with Anderson moving onto Wide, while Aspegren joined Lullaby for the Working Class. A split album with Wide eventually came out two years later through Ismist Records as a final farewell.
