One of the most proficient and successful alternative/hard rock recording engineers of the '90s (and beyond) would have to Nick DiDia, who by the dawn of the 21st century had worked on albums that have sold over 35 million copies worldwide (and usually working in conjunction with producer Brendan O'Brien). Although he's served as a producer for several bands (including Powderfinger and Nine Days), he's primarily known for his engineering talents; working with such artists as Danzig, King's X, Korn, Local H, Aimee Mann, the Offspring, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against the Machine, Matthew Sweet, Train, Paul Westerberg, and Neil Young, among others. DiDia's recording schedule continues to be a busy one, as 2002 saw such DiDia-engineered albums issued as Papa Roach's lovehatetragedy, Bruce Springsteen's The Rising, Train's third studio release, and a project headed by Nine Inch Nails' leader Trent Reznor.
