b. Caron Geary. This UK female ragga chat artist grew up in north London, England, on a diet of reggae, David Essex, Marc Bolan and Kate Bush. After being expelled from sixth-form college, she worked in children’s play centres by day and in nightclubs after dark. MC Kinky met Boy George while working as a DJ at Fred’s in Soho, London, and was signed to his More Protein label in 1989. Her first release was in conjunction with the E-Zee Possee - ‘Everything Starts With An ‘E’’ - which became an instant UK club hit and eventually, after several attempts, went high in the charts. Once mistakenly arrested by police for soliciting (she was actually window shopping) her first solo single, ‘Get Over It’, was released in 1991 - after which the trail runs cold.
