Formed in Kalamazoo, MI, in 1995, the electric rock trio Lo-Fi Scorpio consists of members Mike Yeager (vocals, keyboards, synth/drum programming, guitars, sampling), Scott Dill (drums, percussion, loops), and Tim Houtkooper (keyboards, vocals). By combining samples and hard rock together, Lo-Fi Scorpio has earned comparisons to such renowned outfits as Nine Inch Nails, VAST, and Smashing Pumpkins. Having released a pair of albums thus far, a self-titled debut and their sophomore effort, Noir, Lo-Fi Scorpio has built a substantial local following, as well as in the nearby Chicago and Detroit areas (headlining their own shows and opening for the likes of VAST, Frontline Assembly, and Hate Dept, among others).
