Artist Biography by

Langsyne was a mid-'70s German progressive rock trio consisting of Egbert Frose (guitar, koto, sitar, keyboards, percussion, vocals), Matthias Mertler (guitar, percussion, banjo, vocals), and Ulrich Nahle (guitar, flute, percussion, vocals). They specialized in acoustic music with a progressive bent, and despite their German origins their music was surprisingly English-influenced (as well as sung in that language), along the lines of Amazing Blondel, middle-period Jethro Tull, or Jan Dukes de Grey, with harmony singing that was closest in spirit to Blondel. They recorded one self-titled album in 1976.
