b. Arkansas, USA. A contemporary Christian singer-songwriter, Grine originally sang in nightclubs and bars until becoming a born-again Christian in the early 70s. At that juncture marrying award-winning photographer Bill Grine, she secured a recording contract with Sparrow Records. Her first album, Free Indeed, was a competent but uninspiring collection of tribute songs filtered through a strong singing voice with good arrangements. Subsequent albums have failed to engender a mainstream gospel breakthrough, though each has demonstrated a gradual improvement in Grine’s songwriting, with more stylistic variation particularly apparent on He Made Me Worthy.
