Keyboardist Gene Johnson was a session player who worked with producer Herb Abramson in the '60s, often on rather aggressive rhythm and blues product. He should not be confused with the mandolinist for Diamond Rio or other performers named Gene Johnson, but could be the pianist of that name who recorded on a jazz album -- title unknown -- in 1950.
