Eyesinweasel is one of the monikers of former Guided by Voices second fiddle Tobin Sprout. 2000 saw a number of releases from Sprout's project, including the Seven and Nine single, the full-length Wrinkled Thoughts, and the Gas Daddy Gas single. The following year, Live in the Middle East was issued, documenting an Eyesinweasel performance at the Boston club. (Each of the releases have been through Recordhead.) For Eyesinweasel, Sprout enlisted the services of former Fig. 4 bandmates John Peterson (drums) and Dan Toohey (bass), along with the Mulchmen's Nick Kizirnis (guitar) and Spoon's Jim Eno (drums). Since leaving Guided by Voices in the mid-'90s, Sprout has also involved himself with "proper" solo recordings, Bevil Web (with former GBV member Don Thrasher), and Airport 5 (also with GBV's Robert Pollard).
