Spanish rock band Exxon Valdez was formed by ex-091 singer José Antonio García and bassist Angel Doblas and ex-T.N.T. guitarist Jesus Arias and drummer Joaquín Vilchez, who were later joined by ex-Canker guitarist Ramón Astorga. Its name was based on the tanker responsible for one of the worst major ecological disasters ever -- spilling oil on Alaska's coast in 1989. The band made its debut with the release of an album called Eclipse.
