Evan Cater is a freelance writer from Chicago. He is also an actor and playwright, having acted in some 20-plus plays. His writings have been produced on-stage and cable television.

Tori Amos, Little Earthquakes. When it appeared in the early '90s, she was a new kind of singer/songwriter.

The Beatles, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Without which many of the other discs on this list would not exist.

Luka Bloom, Turf. It's constantly in my disc changer late at night.

Jeff Buckley, Grace. Aptly titled virtuoso performance.
