b. 10 July 1929, USA, d. 6 August 1999, USA. Carroll’s singing gained a local following and she performed on Ozark Jubilee on radio and television. In the 50s, she was signed by Capitol Records for whom she made some appealing sides. Married to Troyal Raymond Brooks, an Oklahoma oil company employee, she had six children. The family lived in Yukon, Oklahoma, and she encouraged her children to join her in singing. Her son, Troyal Garth Brooks, later became country music star Garth Brooks. Carroll drifted from a career in music and died from throat cancer in 1999.
