The Mexican/regional Banda la Movida emerged in 1992 from Jalisco, Mexico. After issuing a self-titled ten-track record, the band participated in a Christmas album along with Graciela Beltran, also known as La Reina del Pueblo, and actor/singer Rogelio Martínez among other popular local artists. Banda la Movida's breakthrough came after releasing Una Noche de Amor.

In 2002, the 16-member traditional Mexican music outfit recorded Vuelve Ya, produced by Los Mismos' Roberto Guadarrama and their first album for Univision Music Group.
