AllMusic Review by

Despite the exotic title, this LP from Jim Cullum, Sr.'s Happy Jazz Band is fairly standard Dixieland; "Zacatecas" is an older march somewhat similar to "Washington and Lee Swing." With the leader's clarinet, Jim Cullum, Jr.'s boisterous cornet, and trombonist Gene McKinney in the frontline of the octet, the music is consistently swinging and often exciting. Highlights of the Happy Jazz Band's seventh annual release (none of which have been reissued on CD) include "Cornet Chop Suey," "Wolverine Blues," "Limehouse Blues" and "Come Back Sweet Papa."
