AllMusic Review by

Yesshows was the title of Yes' second official live album, released by Arista in 1980, but three years earlier, that same title had been used by an obscure bootleg label calling itself Slipped Disc Records. The Yesshows reviewed here is the Slipped Disc bootleg, which was recorded live at the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, CA on September 26, 1977. When this LP was recorded, Yes was touring in support of Going for the One -- a decent album, but not among the band's essential albums and not in a class with Close to the Edge, The Yes Album or Fragile. Because its primary emphasis is songs from Going for the One, this bootleg (which has OK sound quality) is less than essential. "Roundabout" is heard along with material from Going for the One, including "Parallels," "Wondrous Stories," "Turn of the Century" and the title song. Likable but not mind-blowing, this is a piece of vinyl that only collectors will find of interest.
