Singer/songwriter and author Davide Van De Sfroos returns with his sixth solo album, Yanez, a typically accomplished collection of literary folk-rock songs, often of social or autobiographical content, brightened by the sterling instrumental contributions of regulars Davide Brambilla (steel guitar, accordion) and Angapiemage Galiano Persico (violin, mandolin). As usual, Van De Sfroos sings mostly in the Como dialect, but in the ecumenical "Dove Non Basta il Mare" is joined by Luigi Maieron, Patrizia Laquidara, Peppe Voltarelli, and Roberta Carrieri, who sing in the dialects of their respective regions. Van De Sfroos earned fourth place at the 2011 Sanremo Festival with this album's title track.
