Wind River is a set of deep Native American music by Andrew Vasquez. He is Kiowa-Apache and his Native American flute is the primary atmospheric element. Vocals by Vasquez, Nadine Vasquez, Rita Coolidge and Laura Satterfield (two-thirds of Walela), Ty Rale Spotted Bear, Dolly Grady, Tenina Spotted Bear, and Cedar Spotted Bear are woven into the soundscapes. Rodney Grant, Wind in His Hair from Dances With Wolves, narrates. Keyboards, percussion, and bass complete the sound world. These short selections are genuine, heartfelt, soulful, and deep. The disc will appeal to fans of R. Carlos Nakai, Robert Tree Cody, and Douglas Spotted Eagle.
