After lending his vocal and instrumental talents to numerous contemporary gospel and crossover jazz sessions, Bill Cantos steps out on his own with Who Are You, a set of vocal numbers that's informed by his previous work, but actually falls more into the category of adult contemporary pop. The arrangements are naturally dominated by Cantos' keyboard and piano work, and the lyrics by his unabashedly romantic sensibility, which is occasionally imbued with a spiritual subtext. Cantos isn't a bad songwriter in his chosen field, which makes it appealing to fans of both adult contemporary and smooth jazz-pop.
