Though Stacy Lattisaw first came to fame with the 1980 Top Ten R&B/Top 21 pop ballad "Let Me Be Your Angel," she does mostly up-tempo material on her Top 16 R&B LP What You Need. The standouts are the pumpin', sensual "Dance for You," "You Touched the Woman in Me," "R U Man Enuff," and "Guilty (Lock Me Up)." The title-track single broke the R&B Top 30 in the fall of 1989. Ironically, it would be a ballad duet with frequent singing partner Johnny Gill that would prove to be the album's biggest single. "Where Do We Go From Here" parked at number one R&B while curiously crossing over to the pop charts in late 1989. The followup was another ballad, "I Don't Have the Heart." "Where Do We Go From Here" is on Johnny Gill's Ultimate Collection.
