The second of two parts, this single provides a variety of treats for the hardcore Almond fan that would also attract a general listener. In contrast to the live version of the Charles Aznavour standard which features on Twelve Years of Tears, "What Makes a Man a Man" here appears in a live studio take. Then-regular live collaborator Martin Watkins provides electric piano, which, together with Almond's strong, aching vocal, makes the sharp sentiments of the song into another triumph of interpretation for Almond. Two further covers appear among the three other cuts, all from the Twelve Years show. "Tainted Love" itself reappears from the album, but the other songs appear only here. "Vision," a Van Der Graaf Generator song originally done with great effect on Torment and Toreros, gets a dramatic, show-stopping run-through here with just Watkins and Almond doing a marvelous take. A fine version of one of Almond's own songs from The Stars We Are, the lush "Only the Moment," closes out this worthwhile single.
