Naif's debut album The Waiting Is Over is a competent set of pop-oriented rap, much in the vein of his mentor MC Hammer. Unfortunately, Naif, like Hammer, is a slave to outdated production techniques and musical ideas -- The Waiting Is Over would have been state-of-the-art if it was released in 1990, not 1996. Still, it's hard to resist the pleasures of frothy singles like "Can't Stop the Love," even if you can't remember the song after its finished playing.
