AllMusic Review by

After her self-titled debut was an international hit at the raw age of 14, Spanish-born Mexican actress Belinda Schull followed it two years later with another--a slightly more mature and nuanced record. While the lyrics are sung alternately in English and Spanish as with its predecessor, the music on UTOPIA is more reminiscent of the alternative-tinged pop of Gwen Stefani or Avril Lavigne. A high point is the disco-flecked dance pop of the sassy-intellectual “Ni Freud Ni Tu Mama.” UTOPIA 2 is a repackaging of this record with five new tracks, a whopping 18 in total.
