AllMusic Review by

It looks as though Bushwick Bill's well has run dry on this album, as he tries but mostly fails to reclaim the respect of Southern rap fans. He's been around for many years now with the Geto Boys, and then through a slew of good solo albums. Unfortunately, Universal Small Souljah just doesn't rank with his previous works. A lack of originality really hurts the effect, along with terror that just doesn't seem so terrifying anymore. Hopefully, this isn't the last of Bushwick Bill; only his next album will tell.
