'Twas the Night Before Christmas: An All-Star Noel features a few well-known popular music artists performing holiday favorites. Unfortunately, the "all-star" performers are few and far between: only one song each from Amy Grant, Johnny Cash, Judy Garland, and Glen Campbell. Furthermore, this album is far too brief at only ten songs total, none of them particularly long. The Holly Players Orchestra makes three performances that ultimately function as intermissions between the big-name performers. Ed McMahon of Johnny Carson and Publisher's Clearing House fame opens the album with his performance of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas." Overall, there isn't much of substance on this collection. A few of the performances, like Garland's "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," are quite impressive and worth returning to, but they're too few and far between.
