What looks like a promising CD of Latin jazz turns into a huge disappointment. There's a tediously long introduction by the producer to the live studio audience that needed to be omitted entirely. Following a heated opener, "On Fire," by pianist Michel Camilo, a dull arrangement of "Straight Street" and a nauseating cover of "Everyday I Have the Blues," featuring the forgettable vocalist Jilian, take all the steam out of the proceedings. The remaining tracks also help to make it a candidate for oblivion.
