AllMusic Review by

Following the flaky dictums of In Trance We Trust, DJ Stigma's Tranceformer brought out the less muddled, more enjoyable side of his standardized 4/4 technique. This time, Stigma remained focused on the sonic plateaus of Dutch trance, coming across like a free-spirited DJ Tiƫsto or Johan Gielen, but Tranceformer was neither progressive nor base. There was a moment of miniature clarity halfway in when Stigma pulled back Rank 1's "Such Is Life" and DJ Simple's "Y2K+," and let go to throw the listener through the remaining tracks that recalled a time when the trance scene could possess both common sense and warmth without automatically triggering a crowd's defense mechanisms.
