If you can't get enough of that relentlessly thudding, keyboard-heavy Euro-dance beat and if you love the sound of female singers, then this budget-priced two-disc collection is for you. For the most part the singers themselves will be familiar only to those already deep in the scene -- Kate Ryan, Lucy Carr, Kirsty Hawkshaw and Dyce, for example, are all pretty much niche artists. But the producers and remixers are a more mixed bag of famous and boutique names, and include such international stars as BT, Tiesto and Blank & Jones, and there are even a couple of ringers in there among the singers: Sinéad O'Connor and Sarah McLachlan both contribute fine performances. The songs themselves are eminently functional rather than fascinatingly artistic; an album like this isn't really intended for end-to-end listening, though if you're a hardcore trance fan it might help you make through a long drive. Highlights include Ashley Jade's gorgeous "I'm Dreaming" (mixed here by Soda Club) and the Rob Searle mix of Sinéad O'Connor's "Troy." Whether you sit and nod your head all the way through the album or just cherry-pick the best tracks on to your iPod, you'll find plenty here to keep things bumping along nicely for a couple of hours. Recommended.
