This set of piano-guitar duets by guitarist Art Johnson and pianist Joanne Grauer is reminiscent of the Bill Evans-Jim Hall sessions. The accent is on ballads with the thoughtful players submerging their own musical personalities to an extent so as to fit the largely introspective moods. Johnson takes a pair of sincere vocals (on "When I Fall In Love" and "For All We Know") and has Erik Satie's "Gnossienne #3" and "#1" as guitar solos while Grauer's "The Lonely Giraffe" (which showcases the pianist) is the most distinctive performance of a rather sleepy date.
