The second of three George Wallington CDs made during his surprise comeback follows the pattern of the other two. It consists exclusively of his originals, most of which fall into the bop tradition, and Wallington playing unaccompanied solos. It is surprising that during his later years, the pianist never recorded with a trio or a group. This swinging Japanese import (available through Denon) is well worth searching for by bop collectors, for it shows that, even after all the time off, George Wallington had not lost a thing.
