The late Renato Russo (former Legião Urbana pop/rock band member) has in Brazil a huge legion of passionate fans, who welcomed this English-spoken release. His baritone voice in sentimental pop ballads like Tanita Tikaram' "Cathedral song" sounds quite convincing, but he is lost in classics such as "Send in the clowns," song already performed by so many heavyweights to serve as measure. He also interprets Madonna's "Cherish," Quincy Jones' "Miss Celie's Blues" and a number of hits in several different styles which here are interpreted almost always as calm acoustic ballads.
