The companion, of course, to The Stiff Years, Vol. 1, Volume 2 picks up precisely where its predecessor left off, with the second side of the Flex album. From there, it follows Lene Lovich through the remainder of her tenure with Stiff Records, an era of ever-diminishing musical returns that, sadly, renders this collection little more than a completists-only adjunct to the vibrant brilliance of the earlier disc. Of course, there are moments to cherish, but the two-year gap that separated Flex from 1982's No Man's Land only served to date the signature Lovich sound dated, and the minor hit "It's You, Only You" is, sadly, about as good as it got.
