AllMusic Review by

The Best of Excello Records, Vol. 2 doesn't have the high percentage of classics and interesting obscurities that made the first volume essential, but it does have some fine cuts that will be of interest to fans of swamp R&B, including the Gladiolas' "Little Darlin'," Rudy Green's "My Mumblin' Baby," Louis Brooks & His Hi-Toppers' "It's Love Baby (24 Hours A Day)," Ray Batts' "Stealin' Sugar," Robert Garrett's "Quit My Drinkin'," Arthur Gunter's "Baby Let's Play House," the King Crooners' "Now That She's Gone," Hooks Coleman's "Fine Young Girl," and Shy Guy Douglas' "Long Gone."
