AllMusic Review by

Jim Reeves helped to popularize the Nashville sound, which brought a decidedly pop influence to country music. Reeves chalked up numerous hits for RCA using this formula, and 40 of those tracks recorded between 1953-1960 are included on this two-disc compilation from BMG. Like Marty Robbins, Jim Reeves was a favorite among both hardcore country fans and pop listeners alike due to quality singles such as "Mexican Joe," "Bimbo," "Four Walls," "Billy Bayou," "He'll Have to Go," and "Am I Losing You." This compilation is highly recommended, especially if you're just getting familiar with Gentleman Jim Reeves.
