AllMusic Review by

On their debut single, the Mother Hips showcase two songs of '70s-soaked rock stripped down to its roots. The group's sound recalls Dylan, Grand Funk Railroad, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and the Eagles, but is slowed down with chunky guitar leads and the rough twang of country. Unfortunately, the simple, down-to-earth basics of the Mother Hips result in music completely lacking in energy; even the guitar solos and added banjos fail to liven things up.
