AllMusic Review by

Los Angeles disc jockey Hunter Hancock was the Alan Freed of the West Coast scene, so it was logical that he would eventually start his own label and Swingin' Records was the result. This 20-track collection spotlights the doo wop side of the label's output, centering on Rochell and the Candles, the Hollywood Saxons, the Calendars, the Williams Brothers, Art Wheeler, and Buddy Gibson and the Vanguards. It's all solid West Coast doo-wop, sporting strong harmonies and sometimes crude production methods.
