AllMusic Review by

Although he wasn't quite as flashy and innovative as other tenor saxophonists of his era, Hank Mobley was known for his controlled, precise, and spot-on tenor lines, and he was no slouch as a bandleader, either. This five-disc box assembles ten albums of pure bop that Mobley recorded for Blue Note Records between 1956 and 1961, including Hank Mobley Quartet (1955), Hank Mobley Sextet, Hank Mobley & His All Stars, Hank Mobley Quintet, Hank, Hank Mobley (all released in 1957), Peckin' Time (1959), Soul Station, Roll Call (both released in 1960), and Workout (1961), making it a treasure trove for Mobley fans.
