About half of The Best of the Shakin' '50s' 14 tracks are undeniable classics. Little Richard's "Tutti Frutti," Chuck Berry's "Roll over Beethoven," Ritchie Valens' "Come on Let's Go," and the Crickets' "Oh Boy!" open the disc and set an impossibly high standard for the rest of the album to live up to. When listening to some of the lesser-known tunes, it is easy to understand how and why they have faded into obscurity. The great songs on this disc make it a worthy collection, but a weaker one than some of the others in the same Priority set.
