"The Best of Peggy Lee" this certainly isn't, though any listener who already has a copy of this brief EMI budget collection won't mind hearing Peggy Lee at the high level she attains here, if not a very memorable one. Opening with her classic rendition of "Alright, Okay, You Win," the collection includes only a pair of career highlights -- "Fever," "I'm a Woman" -- and substitutes for her other hits a gaggle of odd selections. Sure, Lee has no trouble swinging "The Boy From Ipanema" and "(You Gotta Have) Heart," but few interested parties will want to begin a Peggy Lee fascination with this bizarre collection and no experienced Peggy Lee fan will truck with the shoddy packaging and sound.
