This compilation includes 15 of the Oakland, CA, group's better recordings on Curtom, the label where they charted nationally (pop and R&B) with the smooth, melodic "Can This Be Real?" Unfortunately, that was the extent of their real chart success; many of the others here mimic the hit's groove but never scored as big, and will be new sounds to many who resided outside the listening range of Natural Four-friendly radio stations. Unraveling and playing this disc is akin to opening a Harry and David gift box; the treats include "You Bring Out the Best in Me," "Heaven Right Here on Earth," "Try Love Again," "Get It Over With," "How Have You Been," and a rendition of Curtis Mayfield's "Eddie You Should Know Better," which Mayfield first unleashed on himself via the Superfly soundtrack.
