The '70s soft rock band Bread released two greatest-hits albums in 1972 and 1974, respectively: The Best of Bread volumes one and two. In 2001, Rhino released a second version of The Best of Bread with no Roman numeral but with the 12 tracks from volume one, six tracks from volume two, and two from neither. The 2001 release is the more definitive and better value. Bread's Anthology is also a good pickup for casual fans. Diehards might want the original two Best of Breads, but then again, they probably have some of the full-length albums too. Casual fans need not find this album and should instead start with a more comprehensive (and hit-laden) CD compilation.
