This album consists of solo bass performances by William Parker, who is probably known best for his sideman work with Cecil Taylor, Charles Gayle, David S. Ware, and Peter Brotzmann. On Testimony, he shows amazing emotional and experimental capabilities, but with nobody to play off, Parker's solos sometimes lose focus. The less than average production of the disc, along with the length of these tracks ("Sonic Animation" and "The 2nd Set" are both over 20 minutes long) do not do justice to the otherwise wonderful Parker.
