AllMusic Review by

Sony Special Products' Tequila: Rockin' Instrumentals uses the song from which its name is derived as a hook to reel in listeners looking for a quick fix of "Rebel Rousers," "Wipe Outs," and "Baby Elephant Walks." Instead, fans of instrumental rock get eight fairly deep but decent '50s/'60s cuts from the likes of Link Wray, Lonnie Mack, and Boots Randolph, followed by a huge stylistic shift into the yacht-rock funk of Bruce Johnston's "Pipeline" and arena rock with Rick Derringer's "Joy Ride" that mortally derails this scant, budget-priced collection.
