Although the Dutch Swing College Band made many recordings during its long existence, not that many have been made available domestically. This fine CD gives listeners highlights from seven of the popular Dixieland group's sessions. Though the music spans a decade, the band's sound was unchanged during the era. The pianoless sextet/septet (with leader Peter Schilperoort usually on baritone) is heard in fine form on such rousing numbers as "At the Jazz Band Ball," "Fidgety Feet," "Tiger Rag," "Cornet Chop Suey" and "Dippermouth Blues."
