Getting better, but not quite there yet. At this juncture, Saccharine Trust was an almost completely rebuilt band, and they show off a more structured approach to songwriting. Brewer's still a little out of control (it's as if he needs a good editor), but not so much so as to ruin the record. A jazz touch pervades this record, even if it's occasionally clumsy, but jazz to these guys is more free playing than, say, bop, so the tone and attack are more way out. Grooves are infrequent, but this is an interesting record.
