AllMusic Review by

Most of this LP is taken from a radio show that was broadcast Oct. 1945 in the Jubilee series. The music is transitional between swing and R&B with Johnny Otis's Orchestra, singers Ivie Anderson and Big Joe Turner and an all-star group featuring altoist Willie Smith and tenor-saxophonist Corky Corcoran. Nothing all that substantial occurs but it is interesting to hear Ivie Anderson during one of her last recorded appearances, three years after she left Duke Ellington's Orchestra. The LP is rounded out by two studio recordings from 1940 by a pickup group led by pianist Joe Sullivan and featuring Joe Turner's vocals.
