Julión Alvarez y Su Norteño Banda topped the Mexican charts with 2013's killer Tu Amigo Nada Mas. Soy Lo Que Quiero: Indispensable, is the band's follow-up, and begins to extend their commercial reach further outside their homeland. "Te Hubieras Ido Ante" is the set's first single, a wrenching, midtempo ballad that hit the number four spot on Mexican Regional radio. The album, produced by Manuel Gayosso, is divided almost in half according to the tempo of its corridos and polkas. Five of its first six cuts are devoted to midtempo ballads. In addition to the single, the highlights in this portion include "Y Así Fue" and the deeply romantic "Dime." The second half is more spirited with only one exception. Its steppers include the bouncing "Yo Te Advertí," the sprinting title track, and the joyous "Jarioso."
