Soundies Lounge features a number of '40s and '50s novelties that function well in contemporary settings as lighthearted, retro fare. It's a fun collection that should inspire a bit of joy in everyone. Nothing too amazing here. It's intended to be more fun than amazing. Some of the more noteworthy moments include Duke Ellington's "Flamingo," Tex Beneke's "Moonlight Cocktail," Vaughn Monroe's "Rum and Coca-Cola," and Charlie Shavers' "Serenade to a Pair of Nylons." Could be a pleasant addition to your next modest get-together. Goes good with martinis.
