AllMusic Review by

Junior Cook, who was best known for playing tenor with the Horace Silver Quintet during the period that Blue Mitchell was the group's trumpeter, recorded relatively few sessions as a leader during his career. The muscular but smooth saxophonist is heard at his best on this Muse quartet release which really showcases his playing (with fine support from pianist Cedar Walton, bassist Buster Williams and drummer Billy Higgins). The original program (which includes originals by Walton and Larry Willis) is augmented by four alternate takes for the CD reissue.
