The music on SACRED MOVEMENT was selected by yoga instructor Max Strom to enhance both the body movements and mental discipline used in yoga. Whether it's the soft roll of the Tibetan prayer bowls in "Interlude I" or the ominous sitar drones of "Om/Invocation," this music is filled with sounds and textures that will encourage the yoga student to attain higher levels of perfection and transcendence.
A variety of Eastern-influenced performers and composers appear on this release as well as many Indian musicians. Prem Joshua's collaboration with Manish Vyas on "Ganga Pooja" is one highlight. This raga, featuring sitar and tabla drums, is both entrancing and spiritually enlightening. B-Tribe's "The Sun" is more contemporary given the use of electronic samples, however a lyrical, nylon-string guitar brings warmth to this otherwise tech-driven composition.
