AllMusic Review by

Though he was born in Colorado and got his musical grounding in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, cornetist Roy Fox was one of Great Britain’s most popular bandleaders in the 1930s and ‘40s. Fox’s band was primarily a refined dance band that went back and forth between more jazz-oriented swing and sweeter, easygoing pop. WITH VOCAL REFRAIN--mostly from 1938--highlights the latter, featuring vocalists Mary Lee, Denny Dennis, and Sid Buckman. REFRAIN is sparkling champagne music from across the Atlantic.
