This is a compilation disc from Roy Budd's work in the movies. The tunes were selected from movies like Get Carter, Soldier Blue, Zeppelin, The Magnificent Seven, Deadly Sins and Flight of the Doves. In other words, all the films Budd scored in 1971 and 1972. The theme music generally fares better than the songs which were still schmaltzy -- and supposed to be -- in producer's minds, but that didn't stop Budd from laying in some real winners such as "Love Is a Four letter Word," with smoking hand percussion, Hammond B-3, and female soul vocals. Generally, a sampler like this would be for Budd maniacs only, but there are still some fine moments here.
